Meet Adam

Adam Farkas is an attorney, husband, father and zealous advocate for the pursuit of justice. He began his legal career as a prosecutor with the Palm Beach County State Attorney’s Office in 2009 before accepting a position with the Office of Regional Conflict Counsel. In the latter role, he worked to defend indigent clients accused of misdemeanors, felonies and capital offenses. Since 2011, Adam and his wife Jacqueline Crowley have been partners in private practice at Farkas & Crowley, P.A. The firm specializes in criminal defense and family law. At home, Adam and Jacqueline are the proud parents of a six-year-old son. At the courthouse, they are respected litigators known for their work ethic, competence and civility.

Adam’s experience representing the interests of the prosecution as well as the defense provides him with a unique understanding of the commitments both sides share to seeking justice. As our next State Attorney, he’ll work hard to ensure justice for victims, keep our community safe, safeguard the legal system from politicization and institute prudent reforms aimed at responsibly reducing the incarcerated population.

Independence & Integrity

Some things are sacred. The justice system is one of them. That’s why, as our next State Attorney, Adam’s actions and decisions will never stray from the imperative quest for justice. Under no circumstance will political considerations of any stripe be permitted to guide, impede or tarnish the critically important work of prosecutors in Palm Beach County. As the only candidate whose name on the ballot will not be followed by a “D” or an “R,” Adam will protect the independence and integrity of the system. Allowing the agenda of either political party to tip the scales of justice in its favor would be a betrayal of our collective obligation to impartially uphold the rule of law – for everyone’s benefit.

Practical Priorities & Commonsense Reforms

We deserve a State Attorney who prioritizes justice for victims and the safety of our community above all else.  These are Adam’s core motivations in running for office and they will remain his primary objectives after being elected.  Yet the responsibilities of the State Attorney extend beyond these two principal mandates – we must take concrete steps to reduce the incarceration rate and enact measures to level the playing field for all.

Adam will strive to do so by changing the SAO’s approach to cash bail for minors and many non-violent offenders; sending those whose greatest "infractions" are addiction and mental health issues to treatment programs rather than prison; expanding opportunities for pretrial diversion; ending incarceration for minor probation violations and offenses; addressing racial disparities in sentencing; processing children as minors rather than adults and enacting policies to cut the flow of the school-to-prison pipeline; reducing recidivism by enhancing the office's partnerships with groups focused on community-based reentry programs; building public trust by insisting on external transparency at the State Attorney’s Office; aggressively prosecuting officials who have violated public trust by engaging in public corruption; reducing the burden on law enforcement while also holding law enforcement accused of misconduct to the same standards as everyone else; and exercising proper, fair and impartial prosecutorial discretion.
